Learn more about this land: Rustic, off-grid, tiny cabin on small farm. This 12x16 tiny cabin, sleeps 4-5. Has queen, full, and twin size mattresses. Wood stove to stay warm on chilly winter days/nights. Wood is provided for wood stove. Linens are provided. Oil lanterns for lights. Compost toilet(bucket/sawdust) in cabin. Fire pit, wood fired hot tub(open year round), outdoor shower(spring-fall). Outdoor kitchen setup with sink, charcoal grill and Coleman 2 burner propane stove(bring your own 1lb propane tank). 3 gallons potable water available, 5 gallons water available for kitchen, 2 gallons available in bathroom. Nearby activities; skiing and water park at Jay peak, Eden dog sledding, snowmobile adventuresRustic, off-grid, tiny cabin on small farm. This 12x16 tiny cabin, sleeps 4-5. Check us out on Ig @rooted_acres_farm We are minutes from Jay Peak, swimming holes, hiking trails, and less than a 45 minute drive into Canada. This area of Vermont has snow all winter, and mud in the spring. I do my best to keep the driveway clean and most of the time there are no issues but ideally you would want 4WD and snow tires The cabin is about 300-400 feet from the driveway and house, yet it's very private in the woods. We also utilize all of our property for gardening, logging, tapping trees, bee keeping, milling, stacking and moving wood, etc., so you will probably see us during your stay. But no worries the cabin is comfortably private. There is no electricity at cabin. You should have phone reception but no wifi available.

It was the perfect place to get away for the weekend. Really great cabin with all the amenities, and then some. Easy to drive to Jay or Montgomery for some food and drink. Would highly recommend staying.

A magical get away

My family and I really loved this cabin and all the area around it. We felt right at home because the host Jerry was so helpful, friendly and just a very nice guy. He’s always smiling even while he’s working on his new cabin which is tucked pretty far off from the one we stayed in. This cabin is private and extremely cozy. There’s an inside sawdust toilet bathroom with a sink and running water from a jug on a stand. Jerry has made so many useful devices to make it easier to enjoy a camping experience. Lights strung around the cabin make such a magical effect and are run by a small battery that we also used to charge our phones. Jerry recharged it for us whenever we asked. He provides a small cooler fridge which was wonderful. Heat was a propane heater which was absolutely cozy. Cooking and eating utensils provided but bring a couple extra mugs if more than 3 are needed. Beds were so comfy and linens provided. I had the best sleep of my life on the nicest pillows ever. If you are looking for a magical get away this is the place. I can’t say enough good words. We went up to watch the eclipse and got so much more. We will be back soon.

Chilly Getaway

This was a perfect getaway! We came on the coldest weekend of the year, luckily Jerry helped supply us with extra propane so that we kept warm. Would definitely love to visit again during the summer.

Only 20 Minutes from Jay Peak

Perfect off grid spot only 20 minutes from Jay Peak. Quiet, private (tucked away in a wooded area about 100 yards from the parking spot). Some cell service (2 bars verizon LTE). Winter Camping: There’s a propane heater to keep you warm. Without it, it definitely gets cold. At night, we brought our 0 degree sleeping bags because we didn’t want to leave the heater on all night. Despite lows in the single digits, we were still very comfortable. Also worth noting that it was too cold for the wood burning hot tub. Overall, we loved our stay and can’t wait to return next ski season.
